Hello to anyone who is taking the time to read this.
I'm Adam, i'm 17, and i live in Western Pennsylvania, about 30 minutes outside of s***tsburgh.
I have little to no knowledge of cars, but one thing i've always found that i loved is a tuner.
I love the 3rd gen Integra, and it seems to me that for how old they are, they still have some power locked down under the hood.

My buddies drive a 93 Firebird formula with a 3.8 V6 (I think), and some year chrysler 300m (but nobody cares about him because its a granny car.)
I'm still stuck with my 93 Ford Tempo, and everything is wrong with it, the car is so bad that i can barely stomach trying to sell it to anyone for more than $300.
So i don't really have room to talk shit on other people for their rides.
I'm hoping to get into an Integra asap, and after stumbling upon this site i think my desire for an Integra has solidified even further.

Sorry for the ramble.
Hopefully i can make some friends here that can mentor me as far as buying/modifying/upgrading an Integra.
Not sure if this is what this forum section was meant for, but there it is.
Thanks for reading.

Your Ford have you think about donating it to a school with a mechanic program. You can get a tax return in the end of the year. This will be the easy way to get it off your hands. The students in the program will fix it up and the instructor will auction it off once it completed.

I have donated about (3) vehicles to a school in my area.

Welcome!

So what's your question lol
Well im going to have a lot of questions in the future.
But for starters, What should i be looking for when buying an integra from craigslist?
what should tell me not to buy it?
I'm hoping to get one for around 2-2.5k that is properly maintained with minimal modding, low miles (140k or less)
and that is reliable.
I just dont know what to look for or what i actually want to get my hands on. (LS/GSR/type R)
Are there any dead giveaway signs that should tell me to just walk away from the car and let someone else spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on repairs?

Edit: Links to some being sold in my area.

^ There's very good info there about what to look for when buying integras.
And for your budget, you probably can only get an RS, GS, SE, or an LS. A GSR or Type R are waay out of your budget.

Also, I would HIGHLY recommend you buy a non-modified teg. A stock one will be far more reliable than an abused car.

And do you want an auto or a manual?

I havent even thought of that actually.
Right now its the only car i have, and its how i get to and from school/work.
Getting a new car is entirely dependent on me passing 2 weeks of summer school.
If i pass, parent front me the money and i pay them back from each paycheck.
If i fail, its right back to the Tempo.
I can actually upload pictures of it if anyone is interested in seeing how bad it really is.

Your car is stunningly gorgeous. I dont know anything about the internal specs or parts, but is that green pearl?

Im hoping to get a 5-spd manual, but if i have to settle for an auto in order to get the car, i'll take it.
I'd have to have my dad or brother show me how to drive a stick, but i imagine its just like driving a manual quad.
Correct me if im wrong.
