Climate Control Button?

On the knob for my heater, the one that turns the fan on and off, the middle of it is a button.. you press it and a little light turns on.

I don't know what the hell the point of it is though. Someone painted over it, so if there WAS a picture on it, I can't see it now.

Whats it do?? lol.

Yes exactly. Thank you. My A/C was removed at some point.. so I guess when I get it back at least i'll know how to use it.
I don't know why, but when I got the car the PO had hacked the lines up.
