My car has been making a clicking/clanking sound for a couple of weeks. It is the same sound that I would normally associate with bad CV joint(s). The CV boots were torn to crap so I replaced the CV shafts on BOTH sides. But the clicking sound remains!!! I don't know what else it could be. I installed them as the Service Manual described. Can anyone help??? Thank you in advance.

I can't tell exactly. But definitely from the front of the car. And I forgot to mention, it's only when I turn corners. I mean, it sounds EXACTLY like bad CV joint(s).

OMG it has VTEC?
Is it when you turn or just when you are driving straight? I need a new right cv joint and im getting my valves adjusted tomorrow the valves are a less noticible ticking and the cv is more like KAKAKA

if its clicking badly only when cornering then your axle is shot to shit. basically what happened is that your cv boot was torn and leaking. The minute they tear and you drive, you're getting dust and road debris lodged into the shafts which dry up the grease and ruin the parts. On cars as old as some of ours, they've gone through multiple boot replacements...and the axles will eventually crap out.

your best bet is it look into a used set of OEM axles or check out Raxles. dont go with anything remanufactured from autozone to save money...axles are important.

Well the good thing about Autozone is that you get a lifetime replacement guarentee. You break 'em they replace 'em. My boy's 350hp turbo EG uses Autozone axles, hasn't had a problem yet.

i use axles from o'reilly auto parts. you can get new ones for like 80 dollars with lifetime warranty. if its not your axles, check your lower ball joints and tie rods since its during turning. if those are trashed, they can click.
