I tried looking around but couldnt find a legit answer. whats the difference between a chipped ecu and a standalone. From what i have read so far a standalone is fully programmable and the chipped ecu is a generic tune.

A chip can do anything that any other system can, its just annoying to have to burn chips 100 times til its correct, s300 FTW!

Yes but a chipped ecu is fine, you'll need a chip for your setup tho.

Many people feel that crome system is equal to Hondata, but this is untrue. Crome's options dont really come close to the Hondata system you get more control with Hondata. I was originally considering tuning on crome until i herd this and saw people having issues with crome.

Crome is technology that was great back in the early 2000s when there wasn't many options. It gave grassroot racers the ability to do more tuning compared to a VAFC which used to be common thing as well. Hondata is nice, I have it in my car. What I like abot it the most is the ability to tune on the fly and to data log with or without your laptop handy.

interesting. im going to have read more into hondata to figure out how to actually use it. i made my mistakes on my last car of rushing into shit and having to re do it costing my twice as much. thats why i posed the original question.

Hondata s200 and s300 are pretty easy to use. When you purchase the fuel management and have the car tuned, just ask your tuner if he can go a little more in depth with you on how to actually use the features that would benefit you the most.
