Chipped and Socketed P75 worth it?

So there's a guy near me selling a chipped and socketed P75 ecu with an obd2 to obd1 jumper harness for $200. The chip is a basemap chip for an ls with i/h/e. I've done business with the guy before so I know he is reliable. He said the chip is just like one of the phearable basemaps, and its reprogrammable. Also, he said he had it professionaly powercoated red and there is a datalogger port. Would it be worth it for me? He said there was a noticeable midrange gain. Plus, since its reprogrammable I could always use it to get tuned later on. What do you think?

i know you can get a new chipped ecu with full throttle launch programmed in for about 25 bucks more that come with lifetime warranties. if you say he is reliable then i guess it wouldnt hurt i mean you got your stock ecu. if its reprogramable then that might not be a bad investment.

Yeah, its reprogrammable, and the chip I'll get from phearable is fully rewritable. Right now I'm talking about trading my current CF hood for it. Think that would be wise?

trading the carbon fiber hood for an ECU? I jsut spent like $170 from phearable.net for a new custom basemap chipped P75 ecu for my turbo, with launch control n everything

Yeah I forgot about the jumper. But that hood looks cool. :)
Yeah, but it never lined up perfectly and rests on my valve cover. Smeared some paint off I did :x
But, he knows about that and doesn't mind, so I figure he can take it off my hands. Also, when I look at my car I'm starting to see rice, and its getting bad. I need to sort some things out. Hood needs to go, decal needs to go, rims need to be purchased, and drop needs to be installed :thumbs up haha
