Checking in and have a question :)

Did not see an introduction thread area, most forums expect a hello before a question So I thought I would hit it all at once. Hello from Eastern Va, long time Honda guy and now Acura, had a 97 LS, and just bought a 01 Hatch GS B18. The only thing it needs is both window motors.

Question is, I understand the motor comes off pretty easy and quick, is there any trick to putting new motor on(with gear, or does it just pop on and bolt back on)

I usually refuse to pay the dealer for certain oem items and one of those parts is their $230 power window motor. Wondering if anyone had a reputable brand or point of contact to where I could get 2 new motors?

If not how are A1 Cardone (refurb) motors?

Also seems most of the parts stores have a problem find the passenger door motor????

I have a line on a few motor with regulators on ebay but hope they work.

Anyone having first hand experience with my little dilemma here, I would appreciate any info or advice on the matter

Thanks

Welcome and ur best bet with the windows is maybe a part out teg on craigslist or forums maybe even try some pick-a-parts its worth a shot if u can get them for cheap.

Heres my question: why cant window motors be rebuilt? I see ppl lookin for new ones all the time..

Thanks guys. Purp - I actually just got some rebuilt motors on the cheap, but thanks! HDR - they can be rebuilt as there is a core charge when you buy these, Rock auto has an option for one to send in their motors and have them rebuilt. I did find a passenger on fleabay and went ahead and bought a rebuilt Cardone motor for drivers side.

Just wanted to check to make sure there were no little tricks to swapping the motors.
