Check Engine Light

My check engine light goes on after the first few minutes of driving... takes longer to turn on at night or with cooler temps... anyways I ran the diagnostics for the check engine light and it is coming back as (17) or VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR. Now, what I dont understand is why I am getting this light because the speedometer works... I mean, its a little jumpy until it hits about 25 mph... so that could be it.. what do YOU think? Any advice is truly appreciated... :suprise:

If it's a little jumpy, then something is wrong. It should be nice and smooth. Like Dylan said, replace it and see if you still get the CEL. Good luck.
