whats the cheapest way to get a nice boost in power?, i was thinkin of a supercharger since i dont want to deal with a turbo and ls/vtec

supercharger sounds like it would be best for you. unless you wanna spray... but that tends to add up and its not a constant hp gain

what bout the Vortech System? It cost more, but the gains are alot great then the Jackson System

they use a centrifugal supercharger instead of a roots blower. has more top end power but less low end. the centrifgal supercharger is essentially a turbo compressor ran off the crank with a stepped up drive.

ok Cool!

it really comes down to your preferences as to how you want your power band to be. just look at some dyno charts from both and you can clearly see the advantages and disadvantages of both

^ YEA THAT.... s/c are not cheap lol...too bad i just sold my nitrous kit couple weeks ago... nitrous is a good bang for ur buck deal if ur on a budget, dont worry bout it, if u use it and install it right, u will be fine

its just that refilling the bottle each time sucks. its almost like making a trip to the gas station... you dont wanna pay for it but you know you have to

i speak as if i spray :what:

The two things that come to my mind is intake and nitrous.

Any type of forced induction (turbochargers and superchargers) are expensive. You have to upgrade a lot of stuff to have them work to their full potential.

The JRSC kit on a B18B1 barely makes 180whp. For under 1500 you can do a NA build on that motor and make 150 to the wheels. For 2000 you can make up to 240 with turbo, and for 2000 you can swap in a B18C1 or do an LSVTEC. I spent the extra cash an swapped in a built B18c1, ill be making over 200whp when tuned.

Unless you can find a used JRSC kit for like $900, i would choose another route.

For $700, you can swap in a B20Z that makes 146hp and 133tq. You can supercharge that, and it will haul ass because of the torque (for an addition $900+). B20Z bolts right in, and they definetly MOVE. If you SC a B20, dont ever run more than 6psi on stock internals. The thin cylinder walls cant handle much more than that.
