ok finally got the high RPM weirdness taken care of now i have a new thing lol. Anyway i know how to set timing, you jump the gray connector while doing so the computer does not fight you. any way now when i start the car the CEL is off after about a minute it turns on but when i try to check it nothing is there because its not on when the engine starts. So even when the connector is jumped it comes on after a minute or so.and just stays solid. Wont give me a code. any idea's what it could be checking because the engine actually sounds great.

I do want to say you guys have been a big help with things so far and this car is coming together thanks to the quick answers i get and when i have the time im usually able to find either the same problem as someone else or my problem is mentioned in an answer for another question. So thanks to all of you 8)

Try unplugging the battery and see if that helps, that's all I can think of

disocnnect the negative batter cable for bout 1 minute to clear CEL codes...

if it comes back on pull your carpet back and read the new codes.
