CD player and clock dead...

I have a 94 teg which I recently purchased from a friend of mine. It has subs in back that never turn on so we decided to pull the Pioneer head unit and see if the RCA plugs were plugged in. Everything looked ok, but once we put it back in and turned the car on, no power to the radio and even the dashboard clock isnt coming on either. Both worked fine on the drive over there. I checked the fuses under the steering wheel, and the radio/ cigarette lighter fuse is good, didnt see one for the dash clock. Any ideas??

Thanks will do... I looked in there briefly and didnt see one for radio, but I'm going to test them all on Friday. It really seems like a fuse to me as well. I appreciate the advice.

By "cabin" do you mean the fuses under the driver's side dashboard? If so I checked those first. But if I misunderstand your recommedation, let me know. Will check all fuses interior and under the hood Friday and post back. Unless someone has another alternative I should look at while I'm at it.

That car you smoked!
Look closely at the fuses, they can appear good. But in reality they are broken with a hairline break that you would have to look close to find it. did that make sense?

Lol, yeah it made sense, I bought a tester to know for sure, so I'm going back and testing them ALL. Wish me luck.

It's time for a stick that says this "CLOCK / RADIO MEMORY CONSTANT 12V FUSE IS 7.5A "BACKUP" FUSE UNDER THE HOOD".

The 15A "Radio" fuse under the dash is for ACCESSORY POWER.

Now here's my concern... the subs should be in no way connected to the radio constant. The remote turn on for the sub should be connected to accessory power or the deck's remote turn on output. If you wire the remote turn on to constant, then your amp will always be on.

Reread your post and apparently you grounded the white/blue wire when pulling the radio or putting it back in.

RCA's don't turn on amps. They only provide the sound signal. If your amp doesn't turn on, you're not getting power to the remote turn on wire (usually an 18 gauge blue wire), or you don't have power (check fuse on amp power wire) or ground to the amp.

Hey thanks for the help, I'll look into it immediately. I'm sure I'll end up re -wiring the whole system, since it looks like whoever did it was under the influence of hallucinagenics(spelling?)... The only reason we were checking the RCA's was because the amp does'nt have a light or indicator to show if the power is on or not. Since we were getting sound out of the other speakers, we were curious if it was even hooked up to the head unit in the first place. The amp is probably a piece of junk and long since burned out anyway. Everyones info and input is welcome and greatly appreciated, I can't stress this enough.
