car smells of gas

there's actually a few things wrong with this car i've noticed.

1. when i shift into drive, its an auto, it has a really hard engagement. the whole car jerks forward. i've had the transmission rebuilt but its still acting a little nuts. also most of the other shifting is pretty noticeable.

2. car smells like gas when i drive for awhile and the gas mileage doesnt seem to be near even 25 mpg. when i turn the engine off i hear something spinning and sounds like something is draining or w/e.

3. at stop signs the engine shakes the car and makes the dash rattle sometimes. i just got a commercial gumout fuel injection service done.

idk what to do! im gonna take it to a shop tomorrow to get a diagnosis.

the jerkyness could be from bad motor mounts/tranny mount

ya when i got the tranny rebuilt i got all new motor/tranny mounts. i'll look into a fuel pump though. you think a fuel pump can effect fuel economy/power of the engine?

ahh sweet man good 2 know. i talked to a friend he said it could be 'running rich'. didnt quite understand what he meant. but if anyone else has suggestions hit me up.

check your plugs too.

any CEL? the tranny problems are probably a bad motor mount since you just had it rebuilt
