Well if you broke something, there's a big chance that's the cause of a problem, thats just common sense. But the thing with adding an IM is that people don't realize that you're factory ecu is not programmed to have an aftermarket IM. And what people's mistake is that they never get a tune just because they think that an IM is a simple bolt-on when it actually isn't, you have to get a tune for it to work properly. That's why most tuners go for a whole setup rather than just adding an IM, like cams and TBs that would compliment the IM. This is just one cause of your problem. Another might be your throttle cable. Did you adjust it after putting on the TB?
