to install a new cam seal do u have too remove the whole exhaust camshaft and why cant u just remove the cam holder from the outside???

when you say cam seal, are you refering to the cam end plug that is on the distributor side of the engine that you can see on the outside of the engine? If so you don't have to remove the camshaft, when i did it mine was spewing oil on my trany so I removed the valve cover and took of just that very outside cam holder an torqued back to spec. the local acura dealership assured me i didn't need to loosen all of them and torque in pattern. Just remember to use a very thin layer of ultra black all around that seal. It might feel loose just let it dry. I did mine in the evening when i didn't plan on going anywhere.

on my hci march issue magazine they have a write up on this. They used a aftermarket bdl cam seal and all they did was remove the valve cover and remove the 4 bolts that hold the cam cap in place, replace the cam seal and install the bolts back to tourque specs (which are??) but thats it

my computor at school is a little bit short of specific. The intake cam holder is 7.2 lb-ft. i'll double check my book when i get home. probably not different but maybe.

In my book at home all Camshaft bearing cap bolts are 86 in-lbs.
