Buying my friend's '86 Integra LS and I'm interested in modifying it a bit, advice?

Hi! First post here!

Been browsing Reddit a bit, but I haven't found a really good section to explore, so I figure I'd come here to ask what you guys think!

The title says it. Sometime within the next year, I'm going to be buying my friend's '86 Acura Integra LS.
It's in decent condition, and pictures will be coming up in a post sometime soon.

Now when I say I want to modify the car, I don't mean bolting on a spoiler and sticking a fart can muffler on it.
I'm more interested in tasteful modifications, and very few cosmetic ones.

I'd really like to do an engine swap and maybe stick a turbo on it, not necessarily for street racing or even going on the track, but more just for the fun of it (and surprising people by being faster than expected), and to learn some more about the structure of an Acura.

I heard that I could do a swap to a B-series engine? Or something along those lines?

So my question is,

Where should I start?

What should I start replacing now, what should I work on saving up for, what sort of stuff should I be looking out to buy and start installing (such as struts and springs, etc)?

And I suppose a more direct question is, what kind of power and speed would I be able to see with a B-series and a turbo on it?

Well from what I've heard, in order to swap any B series engine into a G1, that requires lots of fabrication. The only direct bolt in swap is a ZC. G1's aren't exactly mod friendly like DA's and DC's, as in little to no aftermarket support.

The way I see it: If you want a B series and tons of readily available visual/performance mods, why not just buy a DA or DC?

The only things that should be done to a G1 is lower it, put a set of period-correct wheels on, fresh paint, clean interior, maybe a set of louvers, and call it a day.

This is correct. You can modify it to the nuts but your going to need to drop some money to get anywhere. If you just get a 2g you already start with a b18 which is in my opinion is the pace to start if your going to get into modifying hondas.

I did a write up a few post ago about what all can be done and how hard it is and everything
