Hello fellow Integra drivers. I'm buying my first car ever, a 1998 GS Integra swapped B18C1 Type R

Price: 5500$ (was 6200$ negociated a bit)
Body; 194 000km
Motor: Around 100 000km

Stuff on it:

-JDM Front
-Adjustable Tein Coilovers
-Leather Front Seats
-Rear TAble skunk 2 (?)
-Type R Torsion Bar
-Brand New Clutch
-Cold Air
-Type R Spoiler,Lips Everywhere(Front,Side)

Now, my dad asked me to search on the internet to see what we should check when seeing the car. I am a TOTAL NOOB with cars, I know how to change oil, tires and put gas nothing else.

That's why i'm posting here because I want your advice on this car and what to check !

Sorry for the "long" first post, but hey, I need help and won't make 10 threads.

Thanks alot to the repliers, I appreciate the help ! :)

Engine bay pics? Exhaust?

94-01 integras don't have torsion bars so I assume that means sway bar or strut bar

The exhaust I think is a "Ractive 2 1/2 Inch"
Engine Bay, I have a s***TY picture tho. You can see the torsion bar or somethign on the engine.

If this is the info you got from the seller no way I would pay 5k for it.

And that's not a torsion bar, It's a strut bar.

So i'm guessing it's the B18C1 but i'm not a mecanic dude...just a noobie lol

edit: checked Wikipedia, guess it's just a "B18C" thought it had a number or something

Edit: Explain Why ?
I mean every integra I saw had nothing almost and were from 3-4k(Im in Quebec City, Canada) if that can change something
Well I didn't say everything, theres:

tinted windows
Spoon Mirrors
8 Sets of Mags(Ultra Light & Some randoms)
Front JDM freshly painted
Headers 4-1 (? I don't know what that is)

Actually in japan it's just B18C, But there is still a gsr and type R version they just didn't mark them with the last number.

You identify them by the intake typically

Type R

S-irg (aka in america a GSR)

Valve covers are interchangeable so that isn't always an indicator.

Very limited information, Not telling the brands/type of several parts, Cheap ass fiber glass rear bumper, Calling a strut bar a torsion bar which is a quite different thing altogether, Plenty of stuff that leaves suspicion.

The main thing about buying a car is maintenance and who installed everything.

Doesn't matter how many good parts are in a car, If someone who doesn't know what they were doing installed them that could be expensive to fix and possibly a big safety hazard.

I'm must apologize, I don't mean to be gruff or rude but I as many others will say, There are a few red flags with it.

It looks nice (Of course i'm a sucker for a black teg with a jdm front) but we need more detailed info on the parts list and better pics, I personally won't touch a car without at least seeing a good shot of the engine bay, Especially in this cars case because it looks to have tan interior which likely means it was a non vtec originally and then wiring comes into play and that's a BIG deal.

Sorry for the torsion stuff, i'm french and the post was also in french so translating that was kinda hard, not hard but to be exact on the parts is.

it's a GS Model(So Full equipe,sunroof,etc.)

Im working on the engine bay, hes offline or else i'd already have a picture probably.

Bumper I already know, I am also a sucker for the JDM Front+Black Color...the bumper I don't bother, I was planning to change/exchange it,not a problem to be honest

Got you on the French part, Sorry.

The bumper I worry about not because it's on there but because it raises suspicion as to how the car has been treated as generally only very inexperienced people who intentionally or even unknowingly mistreat their cars install cheap flashy parts like that because it's "Cool" or like a "Racecar" or as we call them ricers which are typically 16 year olds living in a trailer park with garbage chinese parts all over their cars

And being a GS, Yes, It was a non vtec originally so you should inspect the wiring under the hood, Nothing fancy just give it a good look over and make sure it's not like duct taped in and wrapped in neon colored tubing or just gaudy altogether
