i know this is kind of a dumb question but how do i bridge my amp? i think i know how but im not positive and i know its real simple to do. im just afraid ill do it wrong and blow my subs or something so i wanna just double check before i go head and do it.

bridging an amp means taking the positive from one channel and the negative of the other and running them to one speaker.

I'm gonna try to find a diagram.

ok i thought so. cause i believe my amp is labeled like that. like the two outter + and - are labeled by a bracket that says "bridged". so say the outside two would go to my left sub and then the inner two would go to the right sub correct?

and i also hear that bridging your amp can be bad. whats that about? im not an electronic or audio wiz... i only know the basics. can anyone explain that to me? im curious

Are you bridging a two channel amp to two subs??

Are the subs DVC?

yeah its a 2 channel amp and 2 subs. what do you mean DVC? i dont actually know any of the specs on the subs. i bought them already mounted in the enclosure so they didnt come packed away in a box with details about them. but they are 12 inch earthquakes.

No, you don't hook up anything to the inside two!

There's nothing wrong with bridging an amp, unless it's not made to be bridged, but yours obviously is by what you told us.

On your speaker box, does each sub have its own terminal? Or is there just one that runs both subs?

DVC means dual voice coil.

Might be able to wire them parallel.
i should be able to. it says my amp is 2 ohm stable or whatever. and im not all that sure how to do that either. do you just take the ends of the 2 speaker wires and put one pair in the positive and run them to the positive on each sub and then do the same with the negitive? i still dont know how to bridge them though. which is better?

ok so basically i have to take 2 speaker wires and like splice them together at one end and run that to the amp. then with the other end... run each wire to each of the + or - depending on which i used on the amp? then do the same with the other side

so basically ill have two speaker wires in one +/- instead of just one in each?

Cant remember what its called when bridge the amp.

Run the positive to one sub the negative to the other.

Then put a wire from the empty positive to the empty negative.

Is that series???
