hi, im new here, and im building a 97 obd2 integra shell, i would like all of your expert help as much as i can get!

got the engine and the transmission ready to go, however i cannot for the life of me figure out how to bolt the transmission onto the engine.

the surfaces just WONT MATE! i dont know if its the axle in the middle of the transmission that sticks in the middle of the middle of the clutch (like i said im a newbie, so i dont know the correct terminology)

but when i try to connect the transmission to the engine, the two surfaces have a gap as big as my middle finger in width. the bolt wont even touch the threading in the engine.

any ideas what im doing wrong? thanks!!!

Its a fine art, you cant force it.
You have to line up the transmission input shaft with the clutch disc.
Once you have that started you need to jiggle it until the two dowel pins line up into the block.
I can usually get 1 or 2 bolts started at the top that will hold the weight and give you a break for a minute or let you jiggle it more as you push it in. Try to get all the bolt started and tighten them in small increments evenly around the outside to pull it together.
