Bogging after being in boost?

ok heres the deal...after i hit 8 psi...then say stop at a light or something, i go to start off and it like hesitates and bogs down and such...but only at say normal throttle...if i start off really really lightly on the throttle and go really slow its fine...or if i kinda give it about half throttle to get goin its fine...but anything in between that it just tries to die..like its getting a shit load of fuel....and its only after boost...now if i shut the key off and turn it back on real fast.....its fine(because im assuming it resets the ecu?)..im thinkin its the map readin the boost and freakin the car out...or...mabye its my afc? i only have it giving more fuel from 4k-7k as well....and it only does the bogging between idle and 4k....my cel codes are 3, 7, and 17

any ideas would be helpful...thanks alot...

what are you tuned with?
sounds like he is self tuned on safc. not having the tps tip in properly adjusted will cause it to go hella rich on throttle. why it only does it after boosting is weird, but thats what your issue is. get a real tuning software and get professionally tuned; that should fix your problem and make your car a bit faster

ya im self tuning it for now....ive been looking into mabye crome..i just cant afford to drop a grand on hondata right now... now i did just replace the tps with a blox one...on my afc it reads where the throttle is, and my throttle reading is 0.2 volts...shouldnt it be somewhere around .5 volts? thanks for the help

well turns out the tps was only registering .2 volts...set it to .5 volts and now my map and throttle angle cel went away, fixed the speed sensor now the only code i have is 41 (oxygen sensor heater) its a brand new plug in bosch o2 so im thinking mabye its a faulty or seeing how it was handeled alot during the turbo install....

ya its still bogging after the cel comes on (which is the map) so i got a missing link on the way to fix the problem and hopefully it will fix my problem until i get a wideband and s300 and actually have a real tune and give me some piece of mind haha... thanks man

so i put my missing link in, reset the computer and everything...drove it for like 20 minutes and it started sputtering again... again. gave it some boost and it hasnt done anything since?....mabye just a bad map connection mabye?i dunno...no cels anymore either?...i think it might just need to have a real tune....anyone have any ideas or have had the same problems

i have this exact problem! my car starts bogging at exactly 5k rpms. it only happens during moderate and heavy acceleration though. i am also tuned on the safc but it was tuned by the guy that owned the car before me. i honestly dont know how to mess with it so any help would be much appreciated.

what are your plugs gapped at? That can play a major role in booted cars. I dont think itll cure it but it may help it some

for example. My car stock gap is .050. for 13-15 psi. When i turned it up to 17-19, I had to bring the gap down to .030.

I could also be your ecu pulling timing like crazy..well i know thats a symptom for my srt, i dont know how the honda ecu works thou.

What's the car doin? like..is it jerking badly?

plug gap wouldnt cause bogging, it would break up like a mofo. i have mine gapped at .025. you two need to get real tuning software and get a professional tune. safc's are missing links are a very very old way to do things. with so many programs available now, no turbo honda should ever see an safc or missing link. omni power and hondata make complete plug and play map sensors so you can read more boost. also, if you dont have the money for hondata or neptune, you can get a crome ecu for like 150 bucks.

thats why i asked exactly what its doin. Some people's "bogging" is different from others

Im with Patrick. Boosted hondas shouldnt be on safc or with a missing link when theres hondata and other things.

But if i boost my 97, safc and missing link is the best thing...well megasquirt is, but no one has perfected it for a neon yet
