Well i been doing alot of research on my car im bringing it in soon but i want to know some backround information on what it could be. Well im leaking coolant the resovior is full but the radiator emptys out within a couple days.. Another thing is my oil dipstick has like a milky substance on it its white i was reading it could be condensation from the cold.. and i also heard it could be water, or coolant mixed with the oil.. Also another problem is the oil light comes up everytime i start the car and then goes away within a min or so. And on top of the head is some liquid cant tell if its oil or coolant or what idk how it got up there thats why im thinkin the gasket is shot.. What are some tests i can do. How much is it gonna cost me to have a new one put in.. O and i have a strong smell of gas when its almost half tank and it like goes away quick but when its a quater tank it dont just like dissapear..

well it sounds like a head gasket but a way you can tell for sure is do a leak down test, if dont know how to do it i can give you some help, its kind of hard to do if you dont know how to or basic knowledge of a car. and its not too hard to do but since its not just get into the cylinders and its getting into your oil, you might want to replace the main and rod bearings cause if you get water in those bearings its alot more likely to have a spun bearings.

sorry if this dosent make sense, people keep trying to talk to me and getting me side tracked

a quick way to tell sometimes..is pull the dipstick. if it looks like a milk shake, its the head gasket. But it wont always do that.

another way is to pull the radiator cap and put your hand over the opening if you feel air pushing out it might be a headgasket.

do it yourself and gain some experience. its not as difficult as people want you to think. i can swap a headgasket and timing belt in 2hrs. if you do take it to a shop, probably around 550 and you you go ahead and change the water pump and timing belt while its apart.

Yea i was thinkin that.. I mean all i need is to torque it to the right specs which i can do and all i need is the head gasket and new head bolts which shouldnt be hard at all I dont know about the water pump but im bringing it to a shop to have everything checked out this week or next and then ill go from there.. I also go to boces for small engines and right next to my class is auto mechanics and they can do it for free also so i can also do that..

Well today i had someone look at it he said it doesnt look like a blown head gasket he said it looks like the radiator is just leaking well what im doing now is just going to drain the oil and change the filter and all tat good stuff then were gonna go from there and if it is a blown gasket were just going to seal it and sell it for more.. But i dont know i hope its not a blown head gasket how can i check if the radiators leaking i really dont wanna blow the car or anything so give me any advice..
