best way to tint rear window

so. the dot matrix. ive seen vids of how they 'hang dry' the tint and then apply. others spray it with semi-gloss or flat black or lay black vinyl down but then it doesnt stick sometimes. some say to sand em down or use some actual glue to help the tint adhere to the matrix.

i plan to tint my car in the near future and info on YOUR experience would help decide to go thru with this plan.

ps. if youre not tucking tire, whats taking so long?

When I tinted my windows I just got window tint for house windows, used the spray from the kit, sprayed window and tint, put tint out and gt bubbles out. And it stayed out fine. I only took it out bc I didn't care for how it looked with my front windows none tinted

didnt you have hit the rear window with a heat gun to form it? and what about the matrix on the top? did it stay on or create bubbles?

ive tinted too many side windows to count, that being said i pay for ppl to tint the back windows or the whole windshield

they have to form it, you have to be very careful when shrinking the paper to a curve...i dont wanna waste the $$ on "trying" to do it

the side windows are easy, i took out the whole glass out to get it perfect, you can do with with it on the car if so take the door panel off so you can tuck the tint between the door

the rear triangle windows are easy aswell, take the plastic panels off, cut the shape on the outside, make sure to get the size of the side where the angle is tight as close as you can so you can just slide it into place, leave the bigger side closer to the side doors about 1/2 longer so you have room to play with, once you get the smaller angle in the perfect stop take out all the bubbles, cut the extra tint off the one side and it should look perfect after you put the panel back on

hope that helps, hard to explain but i try

here is some random pics of mine

yeah, might aswell make it look right. alittle more $$$ but def worth it

on mine it was the same way, they tinted the whole thing but it didnt look likeit from the outside

you know what i did? SPRAY PAINTED the top lol i cut the tint upthere, taped it off and went to town with a spray paint can, flat black yeah its ghetto as fawk but it works like a champ

just have them tint upto it, you later tape it off and paint it, from the outside you cant even tell from the inside it just looks flat black for the 4-5inches of the top of the window

here is pics of that

before, only pic i have

after

just make sure you buy quality tint. i got a kit for my girls civic and the back window was a pain, i screwed up the rear and had to run out to walmart and get the shitty stuff and that didnt work the same and looked like shit

i layed the tint over the back window ans used the heat gun trick. tint is somewhat forgiving if you take your time.

Honestly I feel like its worth the extra cash if you find a shop with a warranty.
