Best way to remove paint before painting?

So I bought this and the previous owner did a horrible job painting the car. its a ugly matte or flat black primer. its chipped away in some spots and cracking off together in other spots.

Took it to a shop and they said 5k-6k to paint the car. Can't afford that. Guy said its the removing of the paint on the car now thats making it expensive.

So whats the best way to remove this paint? I don't have a sander maybe i can rent one?

Any other ideas?

5-6 k is way to much for a paint job on a Honda that's like 4000 in just labor. Don't let them play you. If you just wanna strip it either go chemical stripper or 8 inch dual action sander with 36 grit sandpaper and go to work. Just don't do both together you'll spend too much money on sandpaper. Anyone feel free to correct me lol

chemical stripper? hmm ill look into that.

I will go to other places get a quote. Thought that was high.
