best tranny for swap?

Im going to swap my 91 tegs auto trannsmission to a manual, and i was wondering which tranny would be the best to do so....any suggestions, so i dont get blind sided by any downfalls?

Depends on if you want cable or hydro.

b16/b17 cable goes pretty well with an ls, makes it more fun around town.. If you do a lot of freeway driving I'd stick with an ls tranny, or the b16/17 tranny with the ls 5th gear.

so im going to be doing quite a bit of freeway driving but also my friends and i do these cruses around town so what would give me an upper hand? i think what im hearing though is that there is a more durable one and one that gives more power?

The main differences are
Gear ratios
LSD vs open diff.
The ls transmission has longer gear ratios which would make it more fuel efficient. The b16 trans would be more fun around town but would give you awful mpg's on the freeway. People are saying to throw an ls 5th into the b16 tranny so you could have the short ratios of the b16 but also have the fuel efficiency of the ls on the freeway.
