Hello i have been trying to move forward to getting boost on my b16a3 integra that was the plan since i put the motor in day one but have always had a idle problem and im at the point where i have replaced every sensor and over checked for leaks. Its now time to look at the computer as the problem. I got a ecu from phearable and since the first day i started my car it has a hunting idle. If i unplug my coolant temp sensor the idle goes to normal put 2 new ones in and still crazy idle.

list of new parts.

map
tps
coolant temp
new thorttle body 65mm
new iacv
new dist coil dead replaced with msd 6a box and blaster ss coil idle smooth but still hunts. didn't add msd for power but smooth rpm plus power grid is out and it can do a ton of cool things to timing for boost.
new thermostat.
cleans fuel system by hand no change
new fuel pump 255 ready for boost
timimg is prefect on the motor checked like 5 times.

So now im looking at the ecu as the problem. I want to get a ecu that can handle boost and data loging so if this problem still happens with the new ecu i can watch it and find the problem. I was thinking aem ems or hondata s300. Im only going 10 pounds of boost maxx. starting with 8 than 10 later on. thanks for all your help.

Here's something dumb to ask. when i had the motor out of the car i was cleaning it and the exhuast ports were black like normal. so i started cleaning them and got them all nice and new looking. A couple of friends clean over and said damn did you port the exhuast ports i said no just cleaned them. Thing im asking is could i have cleaned them to good and made them bigger and even if i did would that make a idle problem?

What about the o2?

Best place to order o2?

Could i use a wide band o2 as a daily use o2? And do i need to do to have the ecu understand it?

Yes ecu has to be able to read o2 so no wideband.. cleaning the exhaust ports wouldnt make you surge like that... I ported the exhaust side of one of my d16 head when I was bored and ran it on the stock ecu. You can get stock bosch o2 for like 40 bucks at part stores that will work for you.

your 02 shouldn't raise and lower your idle. Look for vacuum leaks by smoke testing.
Is it throwing a code?cel?

Really im just asking whats the best ecu these days? S300 is what im thinking about getting other wise its aem ems but i don't really want to drop that much money on it since im all ready getting the power grid from msd.

this ecu is just a base map but im getting a better ecu before the turbo build is done. i told them just a base b16 map.

Idle problem gone. bad ecu from phearable.net. got new chip from www.xenocron.com and great people to talk to. Fixed my idle problem. thanks for the help. p.s. still saving for hondata s300 for turbo build.
