Best Bulb Setup?

I have HIDs in my original projectors right now, and they don't light up the road as much as I'd want them to.
I don't want to go the retrofit way for now, so whats a better way to achieve more light output?
I've heard about using 9012 bulbs and modifying them to fit to achieve better light, but is that better than HIDs with the OEM projectors? Also, what about HID bulbs made for 9012 setups like this to replace the 9006
http://www.ebay.com/itm/9012-10000K-HID-Blue-pair-bulbs-pair-Maxima-200-Xenon-/320930926861?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab8f9510d&vxp=mtr
is there even a difference in light output, or the only difference is the fitment?
HELP, i need light!!! thanks

how many watts are your current bulbs? if they are 35W, step it up to 55W

wtf is a 9012 setup? Looks like a hid wannabe bulb attached to another stock halogen connector type. Another aftermarket hid or halogen is only gonna look like an aftermarket hid or halogen already does. That link looks like a replacement bulb for a pnp hid kit for a maxima, no better than a 9006 'hid' bulb. Your only option outside of a retro is to do what bkirshr said... step the wattage up to 55, get a ballast thats 55w or both, boosted ballast and bulb. You may achieve brighter than what you have now but your lighting will still be just as spotty as it was before with potentially more intense light where you had and in peoples faces.

thats what i was talking about, the 9012 bulbs
they are made for halogen lamps, so i'm guessing output would be less spotty as HIDs in halogen lamps

You dont understand the difference in the projectors and how they work. Oem halogen headlamps are spotty because of the way theyre designed not the bulb type thats in it. If a hid pnp kit is just as spotty as the oem halogen, how does a 9012 bulb improve this?
