So here's a little history with the car. I have been Slowly fixing her and I got her to start and In excitement I thought I would give her a little test drive. Well What I didn't know was I forgot to hook back up the cooling fan wires back to the switch and In the middle of driving I guess the wires touched and they Fried. So the first thing I did was check to see if any of the fuses wear blown. Also a wire going to the fuse box under the dash is fried. The only one that I noticed that was blown was the battery fuse. So I replaced the fuse and It worked(alll the dash lights lit up and the windows rolled up and down). Then I turned off the car and for some reason the fuse blew. I replaced the fuse twice and It keeps blowing. The fuse blows as soon as the ground wire touches the battery. What can the problem be. This is very Important I start college next month I am jobless and I need her to run to get from and to school!

It sounds to me as if something is staying on, maybe shorted somewhere. Why do you disconnect the cable from the battery? Is that necessary to replace the fuse? Chasing down a short really sucks, good luck.
