backfire problems

while im diving and i let off the gas my teg backfires sounds like its bubbling. it has done that for a while and now it has a loud pop sometimes. it only does this when i let off the gas. could it just be bad plugs or what?

probably. sounds like what my teg was doin a few weeks ago and that was the solution.

ya i checked them and they are bad so il get new ones i just thought since it was so bad it might be more then that

hmm well i think the same thing happened to my stock ef, and that was related to ignition i think. i dont really remember but yeah see if the plugs help and maybe do a tune up while youre at it

backfiring can happen from a number of reasons

my teggy was backfiring when i was running to lean

running lean or rich, having bad plugs, or timing thats off can cause backfiring

this is prob a stupid question but what would a good tune up be?

oil change,air filter,pcv valve,plugs,wires,distributor cap and rotor,bottle of injector cleaner,fuel filter,check fluids and change if neccesary
