Why would you choose the 17 over the 20?

more volume is always better.

more volume is better, but b17a1's ARE RARE. i could walk down to nippon motors and pick of a b20 for 7 bills, cant find a b17a1 though. bore it out if displacement is a concern.

appreciate the finer rare things in life, paul buynan, errr, kutcha kutch.

AND.. did i say they were hard to come by? it might be quite expenisive to rebuild that motor, but your probibly the only one you know that has that motor. ill take it if you dont want it anymore, ill rebuild it..... or die trying!

B17 has a better rod stroke ratio. It's also a vtec bottom end so your going to have a lot more reliablity at high rpms. I think it has been gone over numerous times that vtec blocks are better then none vtec blocks.

b17 is the same as a b16 with a different crank and rods

Sell the b17, and then build the b20. That way you have a stronger motor for cheaper.
b20 is weaker
