Re-Use your
mounts,
axles,
transmission (Unless you want shorter gearing get Cable Trans B16)

you need...
Complete longblock
P72 OBD1 ECU (if it's a 94-95)
Wiring Harness (or custom)

This is just a general idea.
It's fairly simple, but I do recommend you have people do it that know what they're doing.
I don't remember about the OBD0 to OBD1. IM HAVING A MAJOR BRAIN FART. LMAO

transmission, shift linkage, motor mounts, ECU, harness, OBD-conversion.
He shouldn't deal with the tranny issues. It will be a headache and a pain in the ass...
He doesn't "have" to get mounts, but it's recommended.
Just re-use the B18A Trans or get a JDM B16 1st gen trans. (CABLE)
Simple and cheaper.
Also, the Hydro Conversion is a turd.

I've got the XSi trans matched up with my B16A. Both out of an XSi.

edit: If he wants to do it right the first time, he might as well use the YS1 trans or a JDM B18C trans. Long gears are no fun.

x2 This is true.
I just simply stated that he can if money is a factor and he already has the engine.

B18A trans is not that bad, I've driven one. LoL
The B16 is definately superior though.

The reason why it would lag more in a B16 is the very slightly higher redline and lack of torque for the LS tranny. The GSR has a little less redline and a little more torque. The snail manifold likely helps too obtain a more operable torque curve

Budget builds yield interesting results.
