B18 question

Hi there,

I have a 93 integra with a b18a1 (293xxx)
I have the option to buy a 98' b18b1 (163xxx) for 350 CAD

-will my tranny match up properly? Can I swap on my throttle body etc?
-am I better off keeping my b18a1 and spending money on the internals instead?

those two motors are essentially the same motor. Everything will swap over as easy as pie.

as long as the B18B is healthy that would be your cheaper option short term... then you can pull the B18A and slowly build it up, do an LS/Vtec, or whatever you want to be ready for when the b18b gives out..

I guess part of what I shouldve mentioned is that I don't have the skills to swap the motor myself so I will be paying 500 CAD for the swap.
So that puts me at 850 for a swap or 850 for rebuilding..

a rebuild will cost you more than 850 by a reputable mechanic... the rebuild kit alone you are looking at 3-500...

I would imagine you can get a swap done for that tho.
