Aux Input For Factory Radio

Hello all,

From reading the other threads I notice alot of CI'ers have aftermarket radios but I really like the flush look of the factory radio and don't have the cash to shell out for a new unit even if I wanted one. Getting to the point I'm trying to figure out how to get an ipod/mp3 player to hook up to the factory radio without fm transmitters or p.i.e. honda aux (too expensive).

Took out the radio earlier today and I noticed an 8 pin cd changer input..

My idea was to purchase this Alpine 8 pin cable..

then hook it up to a male RCA + 3.5mm cable..

and directly hook it up to the mp3 player. sounds too easy for it to work. Suggestions or comments welcome.

ehh just buy a aftermarket deck and throw it in urself, $100 and u got a nice deck. but to each their own, it would be kinda col to have a aux hook up on a stock radio, if there wasnt a bunch of weird looking wiring comin out.

Peruviann: just purchase the parts for like 10 dollars total. waiting for them to come.

djh1991: all of the wiring would be hidden under the center console and a hole would be drilled into the armrest or something. still playing with the idea.

tenshi_R: totally forgot about pandora. but no blackberry for me. i use the old school w800i. n thanks for the tip about getting a stock radio from a different car.

theres no need to solder, thats what the aux rca jack is for.
just few more options for ya (btw alot of sonic electronix stuff comes with free harness and dash kit which are usually 40 bucks at local store0)
keeping it around 100 bucks

94mark3: i was thinking about going that route being the rca jacks i found but i couldn't find the solder points in the integra radio so i gave up.

tenshi_R: thanks for all the options.

Just so others know, I received the items today and tried to hook it up but it didn't work. :[
The reason being, the 8 pin alpine cable does not fit into the back of the cd changer port, even though it looks as thought it would fit. I tried.

junkyard and cut off the cord from some other factory cd changer lol.
lexus toyota nisan. most cars use same cd changer cable, and then solder the cables.

but the easier way would be getting that crv or some newer OEM unit that already has aux
