automatic tranny options?

im new to the thread but i have a 88 integra ls that i had to trade my truck for.
the downfall to it is its a automatic and the tranny finally blew yesterday on me
i was wondering what trannys could i use, could i grab one from a newer integra or would i have to find one of the same year?
there is no rebuilding mine ik that i blew a hole through the bottom of it :(
i have seen some post of the manual swap but no one list exactly what you need

are you sure the whole thing blew? or was it just the torque converter?

in most cases, it would just be the torque converter. you could upgrade that.
its the tq converter thats messed up if it slips/vibrates from a stop amd in first gear (while in D).
abother way to see if it slips, put it in 2 and gas the throttle. if it doest slip/vibrate, the tq converter needs replacing.
