I was just wondering if anyone has done this swap in a first gen? We're getting a new tranny for our '88 and we thought, why not convert it to a 5spd? Is it worth it? What do you need besides the obvious...?
your gonna need:
The trans.
Linkage rod assembly (any 1st gen)
Manual trans. console
Shifter and knob
Manual ECU
pedal assembly (1st gen)
Clutch slave and master cylinders
Clutch fluid container
Clutch hard lines and hoses
Flywheel and bolts
Clutch set with alignment tool and throw out bearing.
Manual intermediate shaft (1st gen)
Front trans. mount bracket for manual trans.
rear trans mount bracket
Starter for manual trans.
Probaly need Air tools
3 quarts of Tranny Fluid
Shift linkage
For the shift linkage, I found a Hasport shift linkage for a B series engine for this swap on PasswordJDM.com. Would this be better to get than a used one?
