Auto to manual conversion and possible engine swap

Hey there, I have a 1990 RS sedan and I want to convert it from an auto to a manual. But I was told that if I do that I should get an engine swap too. I really want to have a fast four door JDM monster, can I do the conversion and do the swap further down the road? Or should I wait until I can do both? I 'm too attached to my actual car too much to just get rid of it and buy a manual... It's been through so much with me so i can't just sell it.

You don't have to swap the motor at the same time as the trans but I have found that it's best to just do the whole swap at once.
I hope you grow out of the JDM craze too.

Thanks I read through some posts. I'm going to get it done at a local shop that basically only does Honda engine swaps and tranny conversions as I don't have the space or patience to do it myself. Is there anything else I should know? And my engine should still be compatible with small performance upgrades right? Like a cold air etc.

Yeah. that's fine. It's not that difficult if you have some common sense and a shop manual. It's a good learning experience.
