I'm looking in to getting a system for my 98 Integra RS boys,

I'm just looking through used gear around here and on canadiancaraudio.com

I think this is what I need:

New deck
Amp
Subs
Wiring

I can get a Sony Xplode deck for 50$ obo
Sony Xplode Amp for 100$ obo
Grafdale Sub in a sub box for 60$ obo
or
2 12' Sony Xplode speakers in an inclosed factory box for 200$ obo

Is that all I need?
What should I buy if any I don't really know much about audio haha

xplodes arent that great, you can get a good used alpine deck online pretty cheap, and get some alpine speakers, but for those prices, the xplodes arent thet bad

You'd need an amp kit, but yeah that's all you need.
I'd personally save up for some better quality stuff, but that's just me.

its not a bad setup, but you could do better i have a sony xplod head unit and i think it works just fine

if you really want some bass i would recommend a capacitor so you get some deeper bass

i would highly recommend going to a best buy to get your wiring setup. i was just in there about a weekend and they sell a full premade package that will include everything with your size setup, just make sure you bring some of the specs on your amp or just bring the whole thing there and they'll set you right up. my whole kit was $50 and that included plenty of slack with the wiring and all that jazz

heres my newest setup (picture is kinda dark)

two 12" alpine type e subs and an MTX Thunder 4250

I highly recommend Crutchfield.com as they are who I ordered my sound system through and will continue to order through. The people there really know their shit and have some decent deals from time to time. :D

really? then ive been deceived!!
A cap is essentially a mini battery to help the main battery when the amp is drawing a large amount of power to hit those loud/deep notes and helps prevent excess battery drainage.
With or without a cap (and providing you have a powerful enough amp), you will hit those notes regardless.
But if you don't have a sufficient charging system, often your lights will dim with the bass and that's an example of what a capacitor can help prevent.

A capacitor will NOT give you deeper/more bass.

You should buy my Alpine 7894.

$200 shipped. I got the origional box, owners manual, remote control, faceplate case and all mounting hardware. Blows any X-plod deck out of the water. front, rear and sub 4V pre out's. 60 watts x 4. Time correction and built-in crossovers.

yeah capacitors are pointless and a waste of money, i have never had a capacitor with my system.

and dont but sony xplod subs, they are garbage however the xplod headunits are not to bad if you're on a budget.

the best headunits for sound quality is kenwood and alpine

buy a wiring kit at walmart that includes the power, ground, remote, rca cables for like 30 bucks. And then youll need to buy a dash kit and speaker wire

remember to look on craigslist for headunits, subs, amps, etc........you will find some good deals

Here's your manual for anything car audio:

As far as decks go I love Alpine, their CDE-102 is a great entry level deck.

Subs and Amps need to be paired, you can't really throw them together and hope everything will be swell. You will either end up under powering them or over powering them and potentially damaging the subs. If you wanna give me a price I can pick something out.

You will also need a wiring kit, most are 8 gauge but I recommend looking for either 2 or 4 gauge power line. That way if you ever do go bigger you wont have to tear your entire wiring set up out and buy a new line.

Don't worry about a capacitor till you get your system set up. If you do notice a drain then buy one they are easy enough to put in.
