Audio Problems

My friend has a 99 civic that we installed two amps, a 12" sub and four speakers into last night.
We ran the head unit to the first amp (2 channel) which is powering the sub. Then we have the four channel amp bridged to that and it is running the four speakers. We have a 4 guage power supply running from the battery to the amps, which is then split into two 8 guage by a fuse box. Everything is getting power and the speakers sound god, but the sub is barely running. It is working a little, but very quietly. Also the volume remote from the 2 channel sub amp doesnt affect it at all. the settings on the side of the amp do affect the sub but at their highest setting it is still quiete.

Any information would help.

Thanks a lot

Did you hook up the amp remote wire from the headunit? Have you tried switching the polarity of the sub, as in (-) (+) wires around? Do you have a nice strong ground for the sub amplifier?

we did hook up the remote wire.
i was going to redo the ground next and see if that worked because somebody else told me that too.
if that doesn't work ill try switching + & - to the sub

What is the RMS wattage of these amps?
What's the impedance of the sub?
Are you using good quality RCA cords for the sub amp?

"we have the four channel amp bridged to that and it is running the four speakers"
What do you mean by that?
