Are these signs of a Bad Alternator

So i dont want to get stranded anywhere, i've been noticing my radio shuts off at high volume and now my volt meter is staying at 12 @ idle but driving goes from 13-14 and then back down to 12 @ a stop again, i have a new battery, thinking maybe a bad Capacitor, bad ground, or bad alternator? or just drive till something dies out first?

Usually your battery light comes on or you can hear the bearing in it whine and car dies but battery is good

you could take it to autozone and check
you can also run the and unplug the battery. it should run if the altenator is good. if it dies the altenator is bad.

Either the alternator or battery. Have both checked. My last car had those symptoms and it was the alternator.

Yeah, actually my battery light hasn't come on either when the radio kicks off. I had to change me alternator belt 2 weeks ago because it was split and turned it on so a sec. on straight battery and battery light came on. My radio's been kicking off for a while now but only when its high. Just today noticed the volt meter low.

Your alternator should be reading 13.8-14.8 volts regardless of engine speed. ~12v at idle means it's not keeping up & not far from failure.

You can either a) upgrade to an alt that meets the demands of your car & stereo...b) do the big 3 upgrade & see if your voltage stabilizes. This of course is after you've checked the other grounds & such. If you have a new batt it's very unlikely a batt issue.

Yeah checking everything next time, i actually drive my integra i most just ride my bicycle now for exercise. and also found a place that rebuilds and adds amps to the alternator, so might bump it to 90 amps, instead of the stock 70 amps, or go with a Legend Alternator modified

Real Good!
hows your grounds?
take the cap off they put more stress on the electrical system and actually help it
what size wire you running to your amp?
