I have a 2001 Gsr and wanted to know what exhuast would sound nice on my car. I don't want something too loud but I don't want something too quiet. I heard multiple types of exhuasts but the one I really like is the HKS High power exhuast. But it's extremely expensive. Any opinions or suggestions on other exhaust that would sound good? I love the way a type R sounds like and I also love the way an LS sounds like. Right now on my teggy I have a medallion catback. Not very loud. Actually very quiet and hoping to change it soon. Thanks

N1 styled exhaust is the definition of loud and annoying. You'll regret switching on your long highway trips.

Neither. Honestly I'd go Apexi WS2, JDM ITR, or custom 2.5" piping with vibrant muffler and resonator. The deeper you get into modding you'll find out that 2.5" is the most popular choice for N/A power. If you shell out the cash now, that's less money you have to spend later. I currently have the Apexi N1 and with a stock header and cat it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But with a header and test pipe it is loud. The note is deep but it's louder than I'd like and now I'm at the point of selling something I paid a good amount of money for because I didn't wait for the WS2 to come off backorder.

X2 on the ws2. I wanted the n1 at first but once I heard it in person, I realized how loud and ricey it sounded and decided on the ws2. It's quiet for daily driving, but at WOT or in a parking garage, it sounds amazing.

It only sounds ricey on a stock engine. With cams or a header it sounds much more angry.
I thought the WS2 was too mild for me. It could have been on the stock car its so tame.

Both are very similar exhausts. Main difference is the piping diameter. N1 is 60mm and the Hi-Power is 55mm. Obviously you'll get more power gains if you opt for the N1. Both systems sounds pretty good.
