"Anti-Theft" feature

When my mechanic did my motor swap, he "found" a feature tied into my ignition. When i go to start my car i have to turn it to acc and wait for it to church 3 timess. If i dont u heat the starter just click and wont turn over. Does anyone onow what this feature is called?

I could be wrong but it sounds like an aftermarket starter kill. A lot of buy here pay here car dealers use devices like you are talking about.
