Antenna Replacement Question

Hello all,
I got a newbie question for you guys. I'm looking to replace the broken factory antenna on this 1990 hatchback. Looking inside the plastic interior panels it looks like it's between the inner & outer metal body panels. How do I get access to the antenna to swap it out? Through the brake light assy? Doesn't seem to be from below the car. Through gas cap maybe? LOL.......Any help would be appreciated.

I did a few searches but didn't find anything specific to this issue.

You unscrew the polished grommet that sits over the antennae on the outside of the car and then the mast comes out and then just unscrew the motor assembly from inside the trunk.

Thanks for the reply.........but as stated above, the antenna appears to be sandwiched between the inner and outer body panels. Moving the inside plastic interior panel out of the way there is the metal inner panel there no antenna.

Thanks Samurai. I'll have to get back in there for another look. It looked like the body panel was there in the way. I will have to get back in there for a closer look the next time I have access to the vehicle. Thanks again.
