Antenna Problem Plz Help!!!!

Ok i ripped my antenna off awhile ago cause it wasnt going down, nothing went wrong radio still played, but today i let my friend drive my car to work and i picked it up it was making a weird grinding sound under the antenna ring, even when the car is off it makes a little grinding noise like its trying to go down. It doesnt make the noise when i put my stereo on tuner(radio). Help anyone?

Im not sure why your friend could have caused it, but the easiest way is to just go back and unplug it

remove the panel inside the trunk and there will be a connector you can unplug.
