i am in the same boat....
mine was thudding and was bent...and i slammed it in my trunk and broke it...
i do know you have to take the whole panel off on the drive side rear...from the back and the door all the way to the tail lights...
may be swapping antennas out this weekend...if not then next ill let you know how hard/fun it is
