another valve cover thread... sorry...

i searched and am still unsure as to what fits what, all i know is i don't like mine currently. flame if you want but i am gonna get another to paint krinkle gold. then hopefully find a spark plug cover for it and paint match it to my car. because of the color of my car i thought gold/bronze rims would look nice on it, and then the same color valve cover, kinda give off an Iron Man feel to it...

lol anyway i have from what i have found an obd1? valve cover, but my is 96, obd2 right? unless the cover has been changed, getting ready to make a run to the salvage yard in KC, just found out one of them has 5 3rd gen tegs on the lot. game on... i'm after a few other things but i want to get a new VC, one thread said a b20 VC will work but seems a bit diff, to me. what years can i find the other style of ls VC and can a spark plug cover be had for either one? ls obd2 or b20? either one easier than the other to find?

i'd like to get it redone then just swap them out, also my car was repainted at one time and and i can't find the paint code anywhere on it, looks to be original color can anyone tell me what the name and code of it is? looking at touch up paint in advance auto and found a honda color called mirano red pearl, some one said milano red but that is way to bright, my color is maroon, burgundy ish.. in person but here is pics of VC i have and the car. Thanks for your input.

Your car is a 96? Did you swap to a 98+ body style then? You are currently obd1. Obd2 ls valve cover or a b20 in the same style will fit, you need to plug off one hose though (don't remember which one). Also, good luck finding a spark plug cover for it.. Nobody actually made them aftermarket wise (a buddy and I made and sold many however, might be able to work something out if you have enough interest)

and are you saying my car is obd1? or my valve cover is? cause i used a obd2 scanner for the CEL

and what did the ones you and your buddy make look like? and how much i might be very interested, how did they mount?

Gotcha.

No, your car is OBD2, they switched over in 96. Makes me thing that either your car was swapped, or you just somehow managed to get one with an obd1 VC from the factory.

That's a very early version of ours, yes. "New" style look like this..

not swapped that i am aware of, car only has 108k on it. seems to be almost all original except exhaust, intake, coilovers, and front clip. its pretty clean but has severe child damage to the interior, and a crap fender roll. working on the interior. just trying to make it clean. i can't stand having a car thats half a**ed, miss my mazda i had a 03 mazda 6 full jdm conversion to an attenza, took a few awards for cleanest interior and best paint. got totaled out due to hail damage one night and decided not to go back into debt after the insurance paid it off. love my teg tho, its a great car good mpg and clean to look at, draws attention for sure.

anyway back on topic i am probably getting one of those valve covers next week, how much you want for one of those plug covers, and shipping to 64429, pm me if you don't want to post it.

I feel ya man, sometimes you just gotta make the right choice haha. Btw, the teg is definitely coming along nicely, you've inspired me to get a rear visor :) I always wanted one but seeing it on your car made it certain haha.

But I'd probably do 60 shipped since I'd be making it from scratch again if that works, and shipping is $10-12

ok is this the actual paint code for the 1996 integra? ( R93P-2 Matador Red Pearl ) or is this another generic one that "may be close to your factory color" tired of seeing this under touch up paint listings.... lol closest thing i could find

and the local auto body supplies shops don't go back past 2000, then pick up again at around 73 for classic colors... useless. lol i say this now but they were the only ones who had the correct color for my 63 belair. i am way to hard to please...lol
