another starting issue

My 1991 has 185,000 on it. It starts fine after sitting a long time, such as overnight. When running it runs perfect. If I stop at a store and shut it off for 5-15min, it starts right away. If it sits for anywhere from 30min to a couple of hours, it starts hard. It turns over fine. It will eventually start every time, just hard. Many times it fires up as soon as I let off the key. I wish I knew for sure, but it may have started after my timing belt change, but I am not sure. I have replaced the fuel relay. I am wondering if I set the timing belt up right at TDC. I checked it again last night according to the service manual. Every thing checks out with the exception the I do not see any markings on the crank pulley to line up with the "pointer" on the plastic timing belt cover. Maybe I damaged the TDC sensor in the process? If the belt was off one tooth, wouldn't I see performance issues more often? This issue has been going for for a couple of years now and I am finally going to do something about it. Any help would be appreciated very much. Thank you.

thanks, I will try that. Isn't there 2, with 1 being down by the convertor?

Looking for my next Teg..
no on a 90-91 we have a single 1 wire o2 sensor. It sits on the exhaust manifold just below where the collector bolts to the manifold facing the passenger compartment it will be on the left side. You cannot miss it, but may have to remove the heat shroud if you still have it on there.
