i hooked my amp up (jensen 4 channel 400 watt) to my rear speakers (pioneer 6.5s with 160 watts each) and everytime i turn the volume up past like 15 my amp goes into protective mode, if i turn the volume back down, it turns on again. (15 on my deck is really low) I've messed with all the setting and controls and nothing allows me to turn it up any louder. My amp is not overheating. Anyone know what the problem could be??? thanks

i would double check that you have all of your wires in the correct spots cause it might be shorting out and its just not enough to turn it off at low volumes because its just speackers, i think that might help

Thats cold, but I would check all the connections. Has it just started doing it or has it done it since day one?

well i bought the amp used off a guy and he said it worked fine and if it didnt hed give me my money back....i changed the speakers from the A/B channels to the C/D channels and now they work....im not sure if when i had it in the A/B channels the cnnections just werent secure enough or if those channels just dont work. it is working for right now, but i need to hook up my front speakers too, so i need to figure out the problem with the A/B channels.

Check ur grounds, fuses, connectors etc..I dunno Jensen isn't so bad if ur lookin' for a setup and don't have that much money too spend..My friend had some subs with a kicker amp and they always hit..He kept them in there til he blew them out..lasted him a couple of years..so i dunno..other that that i haven't really heard anything bad bout 'em..imo
