Dont forget the rod bolts, I dont think you will need that guard. With a real good tune and proper injectors
you should be fine.8) This is going to be nice to see transform.

Good Luck

Rings arent a bad investment, but the studs and head gasket should have been enough(if compression test was good). I personally wouldnt use a block gaurd.

i have heard nothing but bad things about block guards

The main issue with the block gaurd is that it can distort the cylinder walls. If you have an assembled bottom end and smack a block gaurd in with a hammer you will pinch the top of the cylinder walls. A few thousandths of an inch is a big deal in an engine.

Block guard = machine work.

Decide if you want to get it spec bored, lined honed......etc. first. If not then don't put that block guard in. It will just make things worse if it isn't true

first things first. its piston rings, a cometic gasket, arp head studs, and new bearings. your grammar sucks!!! lol. block guards suck, so scratch that off. i wouldnt go with a cometic gasket, oem is your best bet. if you are going to rebuild it, why not get forged internals and go for more hp? yeah you can do 300whp on stock internals, but if you will have it apart, get the better stuff.

there no way oem gasket better.i was thing about doing more internal stuff just dont wanna have my car down all summer plus mechine work is hella

seriously, you cant get a better head gasket than oem. golden eagle even uses them. they take an oem headgasket and bore it out to any size you need. cometic's have problems with leaking sometimes, its a hit or miss type deal. no one has issues with oem; and they can handle any hp

as mentioned above...dont use the block guard. if you bought one already, just sell it on ebay. if i remember right its will cause the engine to run hot and warp the cylinder walls. but im not a 100% sure, been a long time since ive looked at or thought about a block guard, and from friends and research thats what i learned.

Block guards are not bad if installed properly. There is no reason to pound them into place. All block guards should be file fit and pressed into place before any machining. Never install one without boring the cylinders afterwards.

I used to be a hater of block guards till I became better educated on propper instalation.

Umm I didnt see rods listed above??????
