All motor GSR potential?

k so all motor on a gsr is what i think i might be doing this winter but i still dabble from time to time in the idea that mabey i should just save for turbo. the things is though im happy with my car right now (stock minus the intake m/f) and i just want my car do be quick not like pushing 600 hp about to grenade on the street. my question is dose anyone know just how much can an all motor gsr push fully built. i just would like to know some numbers that others are putting out with their setups? :)

your going to look at approx 220-250 depending on where you place your powerband, and torque curve

Try again. Youll never hit 250whp on an NA GSR without spending thousands and thousands of dollars. My motor is basically built, without increasing the displacement. It is still a 1.8L, and Im at right around 200whp. The most ive seen on a 1.8 is 220whp on a fully built B18C5. 220 is possible on a GSR, but I think thats about the max on it.

220whp is around the max you can push a GSR engine and still keep the car streetable.

Mine's 183whp with "stage 1" cams, 12:1 compression, 0.5mm overbore, 2.5 inch exhaust. Stock IM and TB.

i'm thinking of cams, intake manifold, and ecu should definately do the job :thumbs up

most normal people push max ~200 whp doing all motor. im doign all motor right now cuz its more reliable for ME. i dont want to start a NA v. boost debate but for me and what i do its better. depends on how much moeny you want to spend 1500 can get u a pretty ok turbo set up.

exactly . .. and 200 whp is the add of an intke, and complete exhaust system . . .so 200 is not max

i would like to add, do your math and talk to techs and engine builders, get quotes and sit down and add all up, once you get the total of that GSR built motor compare that with a K-series swap....... i have friends that have done a fully built N/A GSR motor and others with JUST a K-series swap, there are almost the same price but the K-series swap deliver's more torque, besides you got a 6spd tranny which is fun.......

good luck with your build, i also have a B16 head from www.DPR-Racing.com if your ever interested...... BTW its a Stage VI head, very good for your N/A Gsr build
