Aircraft remover on machined lip?

I got some painted rims from this guy

And i was going to use aircraft remover to get all the paint off so i can start from sctrach. I want to keep the lip chrome. If i put aircraft remover on it, would it mess up the chrome, or would it help take all the dirt/coating off of it? Help!!

it will probly do something to it. mask it off with a few layers of masking tape and u should be fine

masking tape should be fine... what does the warning or instructions say though?

i used them on my si i got from some one that had them painted and it ate off the clear coat which didnt matter cause i repainted them so u wanna be cautious

They're not chrome.... They're a polished lip. And it WILL take the clear coat off.

Also- aircraft stripper will eat through tape so be careful

If its a polished lip, then i can aircraft teh whole thing and just polish the lip when im done. right?

and just make sure you clear it, or it will oxidize very quick
