adjustable cam gear help

hey guys i am in the process of setting my timing on my b20 ive got brian crower stage 2s in it and i picked up a set of adjustable cam gears. i set both of them at 0 and the timing belt wouldnt go on it was riding on top of the teeth on one of the gears so i moved the gears to where they would sit it the groves so my question is this. If my cams are set at tdc which they are does it really matter where the gears are set to ? im getting the car tuned which is why i bought them in the first place

No. As long as the camshaft is pinned at tdc you can rotate the cam gear 180° and it wouldn't do anything. Just make sure everything is still in time.

thanks man thats what i told my brother but he argued up and down that it wouldnt be in time so i got alittle worried lol
