? about turbo setup

I posted this in another section, this seems like the right place.


I am getting ready to install a turbo kit on my motor, I am in need of some of your opinions.

The motor is an LS Vtec W/B16 head, Pistons, Rods, Sleeved, 2.0L displacement, Valves, Valve Springs, Valve retainers 9.2:1 Compression.

My question: I am putting on a T3To4E .57Trim Garrett turbo. Do you guys think this suits the motor? I am sure I can go bigger but keep in mind this is going to be a daily driver.

i have that exact same size turbo on my ls, and the only thing i have in my motor is 3 layer solid steel head gasket and arp head studs.

it is a good size though becasue it spools REEAALLLY quick. Thats the down side of bigger turbos, they take longer to spool so your power peak is later.

you should be able to run 15-20 psi easily, probably more.

Thanks for the info, that's definitely a question I had in my mind as to how much the motor would be able to handle. It's going to be a daily driver though so I don't want to be to hard on it.

with s300 you can have 2 tunes, i would get it tuned to 10 psi for daily, and tune it big for whatever psi you want, id ask a local shop on the most psi you can handle because i'm not 100% positive
