I need to replace the front bumper on my 1999 LS. Apparently the front bumper has been replaced before but I think some parts are missing. I found great "how-to" on removing and replacing the bumper cover itself. I don't think that will be an issue. I am concerned about the fact that some parts are missing. The absorber and the side and center gussets are not to be found when I looked behind the current bumper. I could see the beam but there was nothing between it and the bumper. I am assuming I need to replace the absorber and the gussets, correct? Since I can't just r&r, how do they attach? Do I need extra hardware? I also see a "Stiffener, L FR Bumper Side" on the parts diagram. Will I know if this is there or not when I open it up?
As a side note, I always thought that airbag sensors were part of the bumper assembly. I don't see any on the parts diagram or the bumper. Do I need to worry about hitting something that will set it off when I am replacing the bumper cover?
